This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks

This is a painting of one of my favorite places on earth: Ghost Ranch in New Mexico. As I took an early morning walk, I came across these unshorn sheep enjoying the springtime pasture. I stood and watched them for quite some time, soaking up the light, shadows and life around me as well as the spectacular backdrop of the butte beyond. It was certainly a moment that needed to be painted.
About Anne Gifford
Anne Gifford is an award winning artist and the eight time poster artist for Colorado's Bolder Boulder 10K Memorial Day Race, one of the largest road races in the United States. She began her career as a silkscreen artist. After 25 years of printmaking, Anne now works with watercolor, building successive layers of color to create her vibrant, rich, and detailed paintings. She has lived in Colorado since 1976 and finds inspiration in the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Her paintings, like a pictorial journal, have chronicled her journey thus far. Who could resist these beautiful woolly sheep? You have painted them so beautifully. In the northeast we occasionally encounter sheep in the road if they have gotten through the fence somewhere. Your painting shows them in such a beautiful setting that it makes me want to visit New Mexico again and look for them!
